I qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Speech Pathology and Therapy from Manchester University in 1996. Since this time, I have worked within the NHS and for a charitable organistion. I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice and I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
During my career, I have worked with children and young adults up to the age of sixteen, with a variety of difficulties. For the past 14 years, I have specialised in working with young people with autistic spectrum disorders. I am a qualified PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) practitioner, and have lots of experience using Social Stories. I also have an interest within the field of verbal dyspraxia, and have completed training in the Nuffield Centre Dyspraxia Programme. I am also Lidcombe trained, for use with young children with a stammer.
